Dr Charles LovedaleDr Charles Lovedale

B Med Sci, FRCP, MRCGP, DRCOG

Joined the practice in 1980 and have been greatly involved in the many changes that have occurred in the practice over the years. These changes include rebuilding of our premises, introduction of computerised records and management systems and the development of specialised clinics within the practice.

Over the years I have been involved in the training of General Practitioners and more recently supervised one of our nursing sisters on her Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Prescribing Course.

My particular interests are in the management of general medical conditions especially diabetic and cardiovascular problems in practice.

I hold hospital appointments in Nephrology (Kidney Medicine) at Freeman Hospital and Diabetes at Newcastle General Hospital.

For a number of years I have been a member of the Local Medical Committee.

Out of medicine like the other male partners I follow Newcastle United, try to practice what I preach by attempting to exercise, have been seen holding a tennis raquet and researching the medicinal benefits of red (& white) wine!
